Welcome to America ' s National Capital Region !
Thank you for visiting the unique place that is America ’ s national capital . With tourism and business travel from Washington ’ s airports back at record levels , everyone at Reagan National and Dulles International airports is working hard to give you a passenger experience that is safe and memorable .
Dulles International Airport is now linked to Washington ’ s Metrorail system , and ridership continues to grow as visitors and residents alike take advantage of this convenient new transportation option Airport customers can take a Metrorail train directly to downtown Washington , as well as to other locations throughout the capital region .
With travel back in full swing , curbside valet parking at Dulles International reopened this spring after closing for three years because of the COVID-19 pandemic . Besides restoring a great service to our customers , the reopening represents a milestone . Valet parking is the last of the services to reopen .
We have set records in recent weeks in our never-ending effort to bring you more travel options . Eight airlines launched 11 new routes at our airports between late-April and early-June – an unprecedented period of growth . These new domestic and international travel options are designed to bring you more convenience and choices to wherever you are traveling .
At the airports , we are constantly upgrading and expanding your dining and shopping options . We ’ re also doing it in an environmentally responsible way . Our Green Concessions Program started last year as part of the Airports Authority ’ s ongoing sustainability efforts . We recently honored businesses that have taken voluntary steps to make sustainable changes . Program participants are evaluated annually in seven categories , including commitment and awareness , waste reduction and diversion , energy usage , water usage and conservation , air quality and emissions , food source responsibility and social responsibility . These businesses are spotlighted on the Airports Authority ’ s website , and easy-to-identify decals are displayed at their storefronts , so you know they are part of the program .
We are proud that travelers are noticing all of these additions and improvements and responding with increasingly-high customer-satisfaction ratings . We truly appreciate your feedback , and in making Washington ’ s airports your airport of choice .
We wish you happiness , health , and prosperity during the rest of 2023 , and we thank you for choosing Reagan National and Dulles International airports . Enjoy your journey !
