chamber music and more , held at La Jolla ’ s Conrad Prebys Concert Hall from July 28 through August 26 , 2023 . This year ’ s edition of SummerFest promises four eventful weeks , 21 dynamic performances , and 75 international musicians all under the direction of critically acclaimed pianist and Music Director , Inon Barnatan .
But the fun doesn ’ t stop there . There are also some new attractions to check out in San Diego this summer as well . For instance , LEGOLAND California Resort has introduced a new attraction called Miniland U . S . A .: San Diego , which is highlighted by a LEGO version of the city featuring famous landmarks and themes that make up San Diego ’ s identity , including iconic areas such as the Gaslamp District , Coronado , and the city ’ s beautiful coastline , all recreated with LEGO bricks .
Similarly , SeaWorld San Diego ’ s highly anticipated Arctic Rescue coaster , which is being billed as a thrilling , family-friendly adventure through the arctic climate that will also have the distinction of being the longest and fastest straddle coaster on the West Coast , is also set to open this summer .
On the more adult side of things , while beer enthusiasts can look forward to the S . D . Beer Weekend , which showcases the craft beer scene in San Diego , known as The Capital of Craft , sports enthusiasts can head to the famed Del Mar Racetrack for a thrilling high-quality horse racing season complemented by various trackside events ranging from Del Mar Beer Fest and Taste of New Orleans to Tacos and Tequila and the Uncorked Wine Festival .
So you see , summer , sun , sand and fun really do go together with San Diego like hand in glove . Not that gloves will be required this summer in this idyllic corner of Southern California paradise . A good pair of sunglasses , a swimsuit , a few T-shirts , a few pairs of shorts and a healthy supply of sunscreen will suffice .
