JAMES BEARD
AWARD FINALISTS

Even folks who aren’t into food (are there any left
out there?) know that an award with James Beard’s
name on it carries serious clout. The James Beard
Foundation, which celebrates the legacy of the
acclaimed American chef, bestows its coveted
annual honors on the professionals who make our
food culture “more delicious, diverse and sustainable
for everyone.” This year, seven standouts in the
Washington, D.C. area were nominated as finalists
for the JBF awards — superb recognition for them
and for the capital region’s dazzling dining scene.
