The United Ukrainian Ballet will grace the Kennedy Center ’ s stage with an interpretation of the classic ballet , “ Giselle .” Created for the company by world-renowned choreographer Alexei Ratmansky , the production will recreate one of the most romantic ballets ever . The dancers of the United Ukrainian Ballet have been galvanized by the tragedy of war and the promise of hope for the future . The company is composed of about 60 Ukrainian dancers who fled their homeland during the Russian invasion and are now based in the Netherlands , where a foundation was established to support the company . Performances will run February 1 – 5 .

The Kennedy Center will also host the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater for its highly anticipated annual performance . Celebrating over 60 years of legendary dance artistry , the company will perform a mixed repertory program of beloved Ailey classics including the soul-sparking “ Revelations ,” as well as new pieces like the riveting examination of the unsettling current state of society , “ Holding Space ” by Jamar Roberts . Performances run from February 7 – 12 , 2023 , at 7:30 pm with weekend matinees at 1:30 pm .
