Park City ’ s Main Street is widely viewed as one of the most delightful thoroughfares in the country . And , perhaps most enticing of all , Park City has one of the only main streets in America that offers ski-in / ski-out access . Though only guests of PCMR have direct lift access to Park City ’ s historic Main Street , you needn ’ t be a guest of the resort to ski or ride down the Quit ‘ N Time or Creole runs to explore the many inducements on offer along the quaint boulevard .
Adding to the luster of Park City this season is the arrival of a smattering of new hotels and restaurants . Notable among the new arrivals is The Pendry Park City which debuted a new heated aprèsski beach and 100-seat outdoor patio this ski season , along with KITA ( Japanese for “ north ”), a Japanese grill restaurant that ranks among Park City ’ s sexiest dining options . Also worthy of note is the upscale Tupelo Park City , a globally inspired fine dining restaurant , helmed by Chef Matthew Harris , who uses this fine dining establishment ’ s delectable menu to tell the stories of his international travels and showcase the artisanal ingredients from American producers .
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS
Mother Nature has always been kind to Steamboat . However , this ski season she has been especially so , unleashing 112 inches of snow last December alone to make it the snowiest December in a decade at this ranching town turned ski town located in Colorado ’ s northwest corner . Fittingly , this hallmark moment coincides with another landmark moment in Steamboat ’ s history — the resort ’ s 60th ski season .
To mark the occasion of its diamond anniversary , big changes are afoot at the family-friendly resort . In 2021 , the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation announced an ambitious three-year , $ 200 million transformation of the resort ’ s base area and mountain and 2022 saw the completion of phase II of the project much to the delight of Steamboat ’ s loyal fan base .
This year , for the first time , visitors to Steamboat are treated to the new and improved Steamboat Square which welcomes the addition of Skeeter ’ s Ice Rink in the heart of the square . Across the promenade from Steamboat Square , the lower leg of the new Wild Blue Gondola ( which will be the longest and among the fastest in North America at 3.16 miles when finished at the end of phase III in 2023 ) has also been completed .
Presently spanning 4,212 feet with 54 cabins , the Wild Blue Gondola travels to Greenhorn Ranch , home to the resort ’ s new , 14-acre , midmountain SnowSports School , which also opened this ski season . Complete with a lift of its own , four beginner magic carpets , 30 snow guns , and Terrain Based Learning technology , the school promises
