speed you through U.S. Customs
and Border Protection at 1 cruise
port and 24 airports. Here are the
4 easy steps to streamline the

on your valid, official passport. You can

confirming under penalty of law that
your information is correct. Within a few
seconds, you will receive a CBP receipt
with an encrypted barcode. Your receipt
will be valid for 4 hours.

QUESTIONS STEP 4: BREEZE THROUGH
CUSTOMS & SAVE TIME!

to the designated Mobile Passport Control
line. Show your passport to the CBP officer
and scan the barcode on the CBP receipt.
And that’s it!
STEP 3: SUBMIT TO CBP

(airport or sea port), connect to wireless

AIRPORT INNOVATION CHALLENGE
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority and 1776 advanced their technology-development partnership when they launched
the Airport Innovation Challenge, a competition for startup firms to create and deploy new products and services to enhance the
airport passenger experience. Firms who participated in the Airport Innovation Challenge pitched their ideas in during the winter.
Winners will receive $15,000 in prizes and travel to Northern Virginia, where they will spend three months in 2018, at the Airports
Authority’s Innovation Lab at 1776’s Crystal City campus near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Arlington, Virginia. At
the lab, startup firms will test their business models and products, working with Airports Authority experts as well as mentors from
1776 and Union, a global innovation network. 1776 and the Airports Authority work to identify and mentor entrepreneurial firms that
are pursuing new technologies and processes designed to improve and streamline the efficiency, effectiveness and convenience of air
travel and related forms of transportation, which also could benefit other airports, transit agencies and other organizations that are
part of the broader air-travel community. Look for announcements in the next issue for winning submissions.
