DULLES DAY AND PLANE PULL FESTIVAL 2025
With great excitement and enthusiasm, thousands of guests and supporters gathered to support Special Olympics Virginia at the annual Dulles Day and Plane Pull Festival held on the cargo apron of Dulles International.
A DAY OF IMPACT AND FUNDRAISING Claiming the award for the fastest time in this year’ s Plane Pull competition was the Chesapeake Sheriff’ s Office. Overall, the event raised over $ 600,000 to support more than 20,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities across Virginia. More than 80 teams, each comprising 25 participants, competed to pull an 82-ton aircraft a distance of 12 feet using only teamwork and their own strength.
FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
• We thank everyone who was able to join us on September 13. Stay tuned for announcements about plans for the 2026 Plane Pull, including aircraft displays such as military, general aviation, historic, and commercial aircraft.
• Live music performances and more than 25 classic cars on display
• Kids activities such as a truck pull and face painting
• Airport fire truck rides
• Mobile lounge tours of the airfield
A CELEBRATION OF COMMUNITY AND INCLUSION Dulles Day 2025 wasn’ t just about pulling planes; it was about coming together. From volunteers to families and athletes, the event showcased the community’ s strength and the importance of giving back for a greater cause.
