Welcome to America’ s National Capital Region.
This fall, we are proud to showcase some of Africa’ s dynamic and inspiring destinations available nonstop from Washington Dulles International Airport. From Cairo and Casablanca to Cape Town, Dakar, Lagos, Lome, Addis Ababa and Accra, these cities offer travelers an unmatched variety of culture, cuisine and world-class experiences. Our cover features Kwame Onwuachi, the James Beard Award-winning chef, restaurateur and author, who brings his culinary artistry and global perspective to the National Capital Region.
At Dulles International, the Concourse E construction project, part of the long-term‘ Dulles Next’ capital improvement program, continues to advance. The project will reshape the way we serve international travelers for decades to come. At Reagan National, construction also is underway on the new economy parking garage, which will provide more capacity and convenience for passengers driving to the airport. Reserved parking remains available so you can plan ahead and secure your space.
In this issue’ s Around the Region section, we feature the rich tapestry of African dining across the National Capital Region, from long-established Ethiopian restaurants to the growth of West African cuisine. We highlight our home football team, the Washington Commanders, and their historic game against the Miami Dolphins in Madrid this November. The section also includes a guide to this season’ s harvest festivals.
Wherever your autumn travels take you, thank you for choosing Reagan National and Dulles International airports as part of your journey.
Safe and memorable travels,
Warm regards,
Chryssa Westerlund
