D. C.-based Compass Coffee is an open, industrial cafe and roaster with artisanal brews, pastries, sandwiches, and more. With incredible flavor offerings including The Maple Latte, Nutella Mocha, and a Mint Julep Cold Brew, fans of Compass have been loyal since its establishment in 2014. Since then, owners Michael Haft and Harrison Suarez have gone on to open five total locations in the D. C. area. Haft and Suarez, both native Washingtonians, decided to begin the company following their return to the city after leaving active duty in the Marine Corps. This Shaw staple keeps the city awake and with enough energy to take on the hustle and bustle of a day in the Capital.
