Aerosoft

Flashbacks to my early days when I used to build toy airplane models as a kid, I remember building the F-14 jet and will never forget its variable-swept wings. These simple die-cast plastic models were slightly difficult as a kid to build but I got the hang of them and built many. With the F-14 I remember putting the top and bottom pieces together with the left and right wings set in place between them sitting on a swivel so you could sweep the wings back and forth. I had also played Top Gun on Nintendo and fell in love with flying. Then I watched Top Gun and my view of the world forever changed. At the center of the movie, behind Tom Cruise of course, was the F-14 Tomcat fighter jet.

Fast-forward 20 years and we have Aerosoft's newest aircraft add-on for Flight Simulator and P3D.

In the new version adds LANTIRN (Low Altitude Navigation and Targeting Infrared for Night) stability and Selective Jettison switches for the pilot's seat and RIO (radar intercept officer) has been improved. The night lighting and lighting effects have also been upgraded in Prepar3D

The Aerosoft F-14 Extended was designed

with two principle objectives. The first was

to create an authentic and detailed

representation about what it was like to fly

the early model F-14's and the refinements

made over the first 20 years of the airframe

service life. The second was to create an

accessible simulation for all users. While

many of the advanced systems will require

you to RTFM to operate effectively, anyone

can be in the air within seconds of loading

the sim. While failure logic such as engine

compressor stalls are included, they will not

becomeactive and take out anengine unless

you enable feature.
