Laurie Hesed

Laurie Hesed grew up in Oregon and California, graduating from California State University at Sacramento with a degree in Art. She is now 5/8ths the way through a Masters of Divinity degree in Peace Studies. She has journaled for fifty years, and written 1000 poems in the last three years. She has lived in six states, has three children and four grandchildren and likes to play the ukulele. Laurie lived in intentional community for 37 years and says it certainly influenced everything she is.

I try to write everyday. A friend suggested that I look for what "glimmers" in my life. I usually get the first line of a poem while jogging, write it down and finish it later. I'm not a perfectionist and am easily pleased.
