I do not.
But what moves me is the story
of the young man, a coworker
of the assailant, who looked
into the confused and troubled face
of his friend, and felt such sorrow
and love for him,
even as he lay on the floor,
wounded by four shots.
From his hospital bed
he recounted this miracle
of transformation in himself.
Not of fear, or anger, or hatred.
But of forgiveness.
And love.
Now that is the open/carry law
I want to embrace.
