Remember when I told U of your demise?

I painted the picture of glory or ways to disguise

But U were filled with honor - no fear of a warrior’s end

Too glorious an honor for one as great as U to rescind.

U had a choice and U knew it well

From my lips I spewed the duality of news that I had to tell

Stay within life and live for many years strong

Or trade life for legend, and your history will linger long

Odysseus and his cunning favor

Won U over and stole my savior

And took U and a ship filled with your father’s loyals –

the Myrmidons primed forever for wars

So up from the Aegean Sea, I rose for U

Rushed soothing waters to your side

Cooled your senses and eased your pride

Achilles, how I wished U could have stayed...

U brilliantly fought in forged armor that Hephaestus laid,

a spherical story – of Troy’s battle, your glory, your rage

For humans to revel through Homer’s tales to see

What I, your mother first glimpsed of thee.
