Femininity Orb

By Adam Que

I was raised by a feminist

But that doesn’t mean I’m something soft

It doesn’t mean I never have fantasies

Or adore a woman’s voluptuous form

It just means I know a woman’s humanity

I know a woman doesn’t need me

Or

Any man to be a savior

I know women revel in the capacities of dreams

Just like I do

I was taught to speak and not give some stupid catcall

I was taught to look in her eyes

I was raised by a feminist

But that doesn’t mean I’m weak

I fought in a cage

I train as much as I can

I’m willing to battle for my friends—for a cause

It just means I’m a little more affectionate

A little more sensitive to people’s feelings

Especially to a woman’s wishes

And I still have a hard time expressing my own self

I was taught to be altruistic –

to hold that door open, for her, him, for them, for the future
