i swam in a pond

its mossy banks

were slick

provided no escape

i was prisoner

of icy waters

a frigid, torpid

puddle who was

no kin of my own

tell me now where

you reside so i

can come and ask

what my heart desires

love,

hindered yet hopeful

sent from: The Ring of Fire, 4/10, 10:37pm

dear hindered yet hopeful,

don’t come to me

i will pull you in

with the most sinful

taste of salt around

your toes and tongue

then with a breathless rush

i will push you away

knock you to your knees

swallow all your oxygen

i will never give you up

catch you in an undertow

carry you away into empty

vastness without escape

sometimes you will breathe

between the crashes

the stars will never

be more beautiful
