WHY “BASANA” ? “We wondered whether we should apply as Head Organisers for the Fourth National Session of EYP Bosnia and Herzegovina. The session was supposed to be n two cities, Zenica and Sarajevo and we thought about combining them together like “Zensa” which was neither functional nor memorable. The highway A1 was one of the ideas we had while thinking about what connects the two cities. But, unfortunately, you can’t name a session A1 2018. Then we thought about another connection which is the river Bosnia, but it was controversial since it wouldn’t be the best fit. We did some research about the history of the river and saw that the ancient Latin name of the r iver was Bassantes. We madeit simple and called it Basana. because everything flows just like Bassantes.” WHY “EVERYTHING FLOWS” ? It came to us while talking about the session. Harris and I were fascinated by philosophers. Throughout all of our problems, personal and professional, we managed to stay surrounded by the people we love and who love us, because everything flows. People come and go, jobs come and go, romances come and go, and life goes on. SINCE IT YOUR LAST SESSION, WHAT DOES THAT MEAN TO YOU? I fell in love with EYP during the first session I attended, the First National Selection Conference of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which Haris head organized. After the session, I wanted to bring EYP back to my city, Zenica. With all the ups and downs, we managed to establish a regional office in Zenica. We couldn’t have introduced EYP to Zenica without a session. This particular session is a product of Haris’ and my friendship, kindness, and cooperation. Basana is a special event for me, one that I organized with my best friend, my big brother from another mother. So, Basana literally means life to me. Basana is love. Basana is passion. Basana means friendship. Basana means “being beyond borders”. - AHMED JASAREVIC HEAD ORGANISER
