LIVING HISTORY AND HISTORIC SITES
Living history interpreters immerse you in St. Augustine’ s more than 460 years of history at two National Monuments— the Castillo de San Marcos and Fort Matanzas— and at Fort Mose Historic State Park, the first free Black community in the United States. Dozens of historic sites, including the homes of authors Zora Neale Hurston and Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, await your visit. Walk in the steps of Martin Luther King Jr. when you follow the ACCORD Civil Rights Museum’ s Freedom Trail.

PERFORMING AND VISUAL ARTS
Catch a musical or play at the Limelight Theatre or Ponte Vedra Concert Hall. Third Space Improv provides entertaining improvisational comedy shows and workshops. Experience world-class orchestral performances at the St. Augustine Music Festival, visit the First Coast Opera and attend the St. Augustine Ballet. Join fellow art enthusiasts during the First Friday Art Walks, visiting more than two dozen galleries, most within easy walking distance. Public art abounds, from Historic District monuments to the murals and mosaics of Vilano Beach and the St. Augustine Beach Sculpture Garden.
MUSEUMS, GALLERIES AND GARDENS
From modern galleries and exclusive museum exhibits to historic home tours and secret gardens, Florida’ s Historic Coast offers an endless feast for the eyes— and the imagination. View the Lightner Museum’ s outstanding collection of decorative arts, housed in an architecturally stunning Gilded Age hotel. Tour the Cathedral Basilica and stop by the circa 1750 Peña-Peck House to experience life in Spanish and British colonial times. And don’ t miss the opportunity to relax in the ornamental gardens surrounding Florida’ s Oldest House, home of the St. Augustine Historical Society.
