The Historic Florida Militia , a 501 ( c ) 3 not for profit organization , is a historical interpretation and re-enactment company founded in 1981 . Through the years our goal has been to provide a true historical account , including the diversity of culture , race and ethnicity of the 16th thru the 19th Century St . Augustine and “ La Florida ”. We achieve this goal through the use of presentations , educational programs , and living history encampments .
