AAA named St. Augustine as one of the Top 10 Most“ Walkable” Cities in North America. But if you’ d like a motorized or single horse-powered trip through the history of the Oldest City, there are lots of options. For nearly 60 years, the iconic red Ripley’ s Sightseeing Trains have transported millions of visitors on narrated tours through the city— a service that is also provided by the green Old Town Trolleys. The drivers of both offer entertaining descriptions of historical sites on a loop through the city with more than 20 stops for attractions, shopping and dining. The tour takes about 90 minutes to complete. Fares good for 3 days of unlimited step-on / step-off riding are: Trains, $ 26.61 adults, $ 10.64 kids ages 5-11 and free for age 5 and under; Trolleys, $ 25.86 adults, $ 10.35 kids ages 6-12 and free for age 6 and under. Personalized horse-drawn carriage tours depart from the bay front and Visitor Information Center with fares averaging $ 85 for up to 4 passengers or $ 20 per passenger for parties of 5 or more— kids 4 and under ride free.
