In 1740, the Spanish built Fort Matanzas here, a smallfortified watchtower that guarded the southern entrance to St. Augustine. The site offers nature trails and a free ferry to the fort.
Fort Mose Historic State Park

Governor’ s House-Cultural Center & Museum
