AUGUST August 29 Changing of the Guard The Florida Historic Militia will present a traditional Changing of the Guard. Soldiers guarding the town are dismissed for the night, and their replacements arrive to take over guarding the Government House. The retiring soldiers are ordered to clear their weapons with the command of “Disparen!” The resounding blast of musket fire assures 18th century St. Augustine that the changing of the guard has taken place and the town is safe for the night. The Changing of the Guard is from 6:16 to 7:15 p.m. at the Government House on St. Augustine’s Plaza de la Constitucion. Following the program, the militia will retreat to the Taberno del Caballo where they will be released to their families. 48 King St. 904-834-1540 www.hfm.club/garrison/cog August 29 Sunset/Moonrise at St. Augustine Lighthouse Enjoy the sunset and moonrise from the top of the Lighthouse!  The $30 admission includes a champagne toast, provided by San Sebastian Winery, hors d’oeuvres from The Reef and an informative overview of the history of the St. Augustine Light Station. 81 Lighthouse Ave., St. Augustine. 904-829-0745 www.staugustinelighthouse.org August 30 Rick Springfield with Loverboy and The Romantics Rick Springfield’s first love has always been music.
