St. Augustine Celtic Music and Heritage Festival
The sounds of the ancient Celtic peoples of Scotland and Ireland
come alive at Francis Field on Castillo Drive. Celtic clans from
around the world show their ancestral pride, Highland games
athletes demonstrate their mind-boggling strength, the St. Patrick’s
Day Parade marches through the streets of the Oldest City’s Historic
District, and vendors offer up Celtic cuisine and hand-made crafts.
Scottish and Irish bands playing both traditional tunes and
modernized renditions of the ancient Celtic music appear live on
stage throughout the two-day festival. Festival hours are Friday 7 9 p.m.; Saturday 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.; Sunday 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Tickets are

Plein Air Painting with Randy Pitts
The Fountain of Youth will host the Cultural Center of Ponte Vedra
for a 3 day workshop to cover the basics of painting outdoors.
Instructor Randy Pitts will focus on the essentials, like simplification,

Some of the most impressive kilt-donning athletes around
challenge one another in traditional Scottish heavy athletics
and strength competitions, including the weight throw, Scottish
hammer throw, stone put and the always entertaining caber toss,
which involves tossing a long, tapered pine log or pole end-overend. The competition takes place beginning at 10 a.m. each day at
