JANUARY January 8 - February 28 First People Exhibit at the St. Augustine Art Association The St. Augustine Art Association’s opens First People, a special art and archaeology exhibition of Native American artifacts discovered in St. Augustine. The exhibit runs through February 28. The gallery reception is 5 - 9 p.m. on the 8th. Trombone Shorty’s first album, Backatown, was released in 2010 and was nominated for a Grammy. His 2011 album, For True, topped Billboard’s contemporary jazz chart for 12 weeks. New Brass Band lives and breathes the culture of New Orleans, infusing funk, rock, jazz and hip-hop into a custom-made enhancement of second-line brass tradition. This play is a family classic by John Steinbeck. Desperately proud, but reduced to poverty by the loss of their farm, the Joads pile their few possessions on a battered old truck and head west for California, hoping to find work and a better life.
