Taking Your Photography on the Road: Tips from a Nomadic
Landscape Photographer
Meeting Location: Celebration Hall at St. Anastasia, 5205 A1A South
sponsored by
THURSDAY 1 TO 2:30 P.M.
Price: $25 | Max No People: 30 | Difficulty Level: All Levels
During this seminar, Mandy will tell you her story of how she transitioned from
her conventional 9-5 job into a life on the road and making her living as a full-time
photographer. Whether or not you plan to take your show on the road, Mandy will
give you tips for your photography trips, including finding locations and capturing
the essence of your location.
When Mandy was 16 years old she walked into a camera store in Colorado and asked
for a job. Little did she know that would be just the beginning of a 17-year career
in retail photography stores. After spending 10 years at Precision Camera & Video
in Austin, her wanderlust became unavoidable. She quit her day job, gave away her
belongings, and left to pursue freelance landscape photography while living on the
road out of her teardrop camper.
Mandy has now been on the road for two and a half years and has been
joined by her partner, Kendrick, who lives on the road with her. Her landscape
photography has been featured in outdoor and photography magazines, corporate
advertisements, podcasts and television. When not on assignment she teaches in-
the-field workshops and speaks at events relating to photography and tiny living.
With her photography, Mandy strives to share the beauty of nature while inspiring
others to live simply, chase their dreams, and be grateful for the world around them.
