Xena ’ s brother , Luis , 10 , enjoys learning about the human body , animals and space . He admits his current science studies aren ’ t as interesting as he ’ s taught elements of force from a textbook and feels he ’ s learning the same thing each year . He wants a greater challenge , despite being in gifted classes . Luis wants to learn real-world problem solving outside of a textbook .
Luis welcomes research assignments in order to use computers to search for information . He ’ s intrigued by technology and loves when it ’ s incorporated into lessons . His curiosity keeps him wondering how electronics work .
“ I just want to know how people make computers and what they use and stuff ,” Luis said .
Luis may be surprised to know about one student who knows how computers work and is introducing people like him to a new world of modeling , simulation and training ( MS & T ).

Austin , 17 , is Mod Squad president at Paul J . Hagerty High School in Oviedo . The club is focused on community outreach to share MS & T with teachers , students and the general public . For example , students held a workshop
