will allow Brevard County businesses, along with those from the
surrounding 22 counties of the region, to begin securing entry-level talent
straight
from the source.
“By providing a platform to strengthen partnerships between
workforce and education, Career Expo helps CareerSource
Brevard understand what local businesses consider in-demand
universities for recruitment,” said Lisa Rice, CareerSource Brevard
president. “Further discussions help guide our work in adding to
a much needed talent pipeline.”
The three-day conference serves to introduce The Corridor’s varied high
tech industries as much as it facilitates connections. By showcasing high
tech industries thriving in the 23-county region, The Corridor helps to build
momentum for all partners in economic development.
The Future
The future may bring custom space vacations for the average family,
however, that could be merely the beginning of what is to come.
Looking back, NASA technology enabled today’s LED light bulbs, water
purification systems, firefighter gear and temper foam (think mattresses),
to name a few. Future applications of today’s aerospace research may
currently be unimaginable, but those applications look promising for the
Space Coast as a legacy of space exploration and research continues,
now dominated by commercial projects.
As NASA and the military spearhead aerospace services, Space Florida
recognizes the influence of aerospace companies in the growing industry
and seeks to secure Florida as the gateway for exploration in the solar
system.
As economic development, workforce, private and public organizations
worked together in Brevard County for more than a decade to overcome
a drastic change in the local economy, the thought of greater things to
come may not just be a dream for those who have the option to keep
their head in the clouds and eyes on the stars.
