How do your goals on stage connect with your non-athletic activities?

My goals on stage connect with basically everything else I do in life. I have realized that the discipline and dedication it takes to compete I can apply to everyday tasks. Also, constantly pushing myself to become better is something I  have been doing outside of competing because, in my eyes, there is always  room for growth no matter what I’m doing.

How many times per day do you eat and what’s your typical caloric, carb and protein intake per day?

I eat six meals a day and my caloric intake is very low right now maybe around 1100 cals, due to depletion for the two competitions. However, in my off season I will be reverse dieting back to a more normal caloric intake for my body.

How many times a week do you work out and for how long?

I currently workout six days a week, 2-3 times a day. My workouts take anywhere from 40 minutes to 90 minutes.

What’s your favorite body part to train?

I have an obsession with training legs, which is to my benefit because that is where I feel I need to improve the most. I have been training legs 2 days a week for months.

What’s the most comical or unusual comment someone has made to you?

Once I got a comment that was something like “Aren’t you going to look back on life and wish you had spent the time eating the foods you want?” I almost didn’t know how to reply but I simply said, “No, I’ve eaten plenty of foods I want.”

Do you use a coach or nutritionist and how have they impacted your journey?

My coaches are Vicki and Brian Nixon. I train with Vicki three times a week and she does my nutrition plans. Both coaches have impacted my journey positively because they have a lot of knowledge and experience.

What is your favorite non-athletic activity?

This is a hard question, most of my activities are athletic! I would have to say my favorite non-athletic activities are being around my family and definitely sleeping!
