Athlete As Product:

I shoot content for female oriented bookstore quality mainstream fitness publications and their websites and in doing so have to encourage wardrobe that doesn't show side boobs, any cleavage or much of any booty and make sure not to shoot provocative or overtly sexual or suggestive angles or include background music that basically won't raise the ire of the average female viewer that wants serious fitness information from a reputable source. Then for male oriented fitness magazines the same women have to sex everything up. That's the reality and nature of the fitness media market and one might call it a double standard of what males and females want there are also women that enjoy the male oriented slant we put on the feminine physique the same as there are women that read (and look at the pictures in) Playboy magazine.

The same sort of scenario applies to the males in the industry whether shooting for a bodybuilding "hardcore" publication where they are typeset as a mass of bulging muscle with immense vascularity and a grimace on the grill or a softer often sexy bedroom eyes look to the other magazines where the guys find themselves donning little more than their designer compression shorts leaning against a wall on a dimly lit set after giving some serious pointers on the latest rehash of an exercise set you've seen published over and over again in pubs for the last four decades.

What is different about you as a product is your style, personality and unique story mixed into this template of media content output. Six pack abs may be a dime a dozen as fitness practioners seem to become more plentiful, but your interior is unique in relation to your life's experience, circumstances and how you have dealt with it to become the fit person you are.

Figure out and focus on what your style, personality and unique story is and clarify it to others as along with those abs its what will allow others to engage with you.

Please share something of your background and how it relates to your current interest in fitness and modeling.

I grew up playing soccer since kindergarten, and have always loved sports. But as I got older, my focus changed, and sculpting a healthy physique has really appealed to me.

Share with us a bit about your contest history and most memorable show experience.

My first show was the 2013 NPC South Florida Championship. It was the day after Thanksgiving, which was really hard to diet through. But it was an amazing experience in every possible way. I won first place and overall first place for women's physique Class B. What a great time! I met so many amazing people there that I still keep in contact with (cont. pg 6)
