Miranda Tamez Bio

MIranda Tamez

I've been competing since October of 2011. I've since competed in 9 shows, 5 local shows and 4 national shows. My most memorable show has to be the 1st show in which I competed. Tim Gardner's Hurricane Bay. Hurricane Bay is a large local show with over 150 competitors, which is quite large for someone's debut. I took 1st in the open, 1st in over 30, won the Overall and was awarded the 'Most Promising Athlete' award. And to top it off, my Overall trophy was given to me, by none other than, the beautiful Erin Stern. It was a moment I will never forget.

The first memory I have of working out is with my mother. She had me in the gym with her when I was about 10. She's always been my inspiration to keep fit and healthy. She taught me young and it's carried through to adulthood. I wish all kids could get the jumpstart with health and fitness like I did. The competing for my Pro Card, is just a goal I set for myself. The discipline and mental toughness that's required, is like a personal challenge everyday.

My favorite part of modeling is getting to be made up beautifully and be something other than a Physical Therapist (my job). You get to feel special, beautiful and leave reality behind, even if it's only for a little while. And you get to capture, on film, all your hard work and dedication. My least favorite part is choosing the outfits and being so worried about facial expressions on camera. It's not as easy as the supermodels make it look!

I would most like to shoot in a tropical location with lush greenery and beautiful blue water. Somewhere in the Caribbean.

-My dream career in the fitness industry would begin with winning my Pro Card, leading to sponsorships with reputable companies looking for a face to appeal to a certain demographic. Women over the age of 30 looking to be and stay fit.
