Dunesfolk

Dunefolks Lalafells are the homeless population of now destroyed Mhach hiding themselves in the remote outlands for a time, before venturing into the wastes of Thanalan in caravans being pulled by beast of burdens, living a nomadic life traveling the sandylands giving them their names of Dunesfolk, eventually these same race founded the great civilization of Belah’dia before splintering into Sil’dih and Ul’dah before going into a war amongst themselves and we know the outcome of that one. These Lalafells are practical by nature and swift to put their ideas into action, their temperament is well-suited to seizing business opportunities which makes it no surprise that they played a great role in making Ul’dah a major trading city it is today.

Over the years the Dunesfolks have adapted to their environment which can be seen by their tanned skin, which is able to withstand the rase rays of the sun which beat down on them. Their eyes clear as glass which is covered by a membrane which protect their eyes from the sands, Dunesfolk have very strong magical abilities which gives account to many of them being high ranking thaumaturges as well as high-ranking members of the Order of Nald’thal clergy. Being small always has its benefits especially in mining where the Dunesfolk are able to get into small tunnels to get ores and minerals these gives them edge over Roegadyn and they brute strength.

Dunesfolks attach a small orb to their forehead as a symbol to their guardian deity, which less known practice amongst them but it dates back to that of their ancestors, the sorcerers of Mhach, another practice of the Dunesfolk is giving their children cups of herbal tea which is infused with small amounts of snake and scorpion venom which allows them to have remarkable resistance to poison later in life.
