Casting a shadow

remember we are

above the fish in our

float tube.  Something

taught to me years

ago is if you can see

the fish then they

already see you.

Basically as we all

know you cannot

really sneak up on

your target very

easily.  Being that we

are above these fish

it is very important to think about the direction you come in on your target fish.  Pay attention to the sun’s location and where your shadows are being cast.  Your shadow should not lead you; it should be behind you as you approach your target fish.

Splashing around in the water.  We are in the water but we are not at a pool party.  It is very easy to splash around as we are racing to our spot or the boil nearby.  Our fins need to stay under the water. Once they break the surface we are making unnecessary noise that alerts the fish we are

targeting.  Also we should

not be snapping our

small tackle boxes open\

and closed and shoving

our gear into our side

pockets, just be

deliberate and gentle

about our movements in

and above our waters.
