Float Tube Fishing Forum E-Zine Volume 7: Issue 1: | Page 22

Some of you know what I am talking about the challenge of getting in and out of the water while float tubing can be troublesome. This article is for the first timers, novice, beginners, you know how I am talking to. You need to be careful this is where the accidents happen at the start or the end of your float. Know where you are getting in at, and plan your exits. That’s right I said exit’s meaning more than one.

OK before we get too deep lets go over some of the things you should have with you before you decide to launch.  You should be sure to have your wader belt on which helps keep water out if the worst should happen.  You must also be sure to have on your life vest.  I have seen many people say “Yes I have my vest, it's right behind me in the water.”  When things go wrong you don’t have time to put it on , it simply needs to be on. You

need to have your fins with

you and ready to be put on

(lose straps to slip on quick

and easy.  Of course you

should also have the following

as well.  Your tackle and rods,

your license (dependent on

your states requirements).  You

should also have some snacks,

a good hat and face guard

(bluff), polarized sunglasses,

a whistle, and of course a

Cell Phone for pictures and

emergency calls if something

goes wrong.
