Questions Asked:

Zipper Corrosion:  So the only issue i have been having is my zippers like to corrode because i'm always in the saltwater. It's a pain in the but sometimes to clean and open. I was thinking of maybe spray painting it? Has this ever happened to you and what was your fix?

Question Answered:

Dear Zipper Corrosion, this is an issue many people have had in the past.  Here is what you can do to help you with the Corrosion of your float tube Zippers.  As some have done in the past Chapsticks work on more than just your lips.  Use the chapstick to wick water away and prevent corrosion from happening faster than normal.  Some other ideas are a little Vasaline, or Vegetable Oil, again this will prevent water from sitting on the metal of the zipper.  Plus it will help in allowing the zipper to glide with ease when you open and close it.  Downfall these will attract dirt and debris so you will still need to clear routinely and reapply often.

Questions Asked:

Anchor Location: I would like to mount my 3 1/2 lb anchor using the Scotty Anchor lock. Has anyone done this & did you mount to the front or side of your float tube?

Question Answered:

Dear Anchor Location, we can say that float tube fishing was really a non anchor sport but there are those days and conditions that might require an anchor to help you on rough days. Never mount an anchor on the front of your tube as this will just lead to you getting tangled as you reel in your catch. Instead you should at least mount it on the side of your tube. Most mount them off their rod holders for a better anchor point. Or better to use an attached D-Ring on the side. Best result if you can is to mount it off the back of your tube so it is out of your fishing path all together. be sure to line up with the wind and the current best result.

Happy fishing to all from Dear Floaters
