TREAT OTHERS THE WAY YOU WANT TO BE TREATED
Yes, the title is a cliché – we know – but this perfectly explains such a serious topic. Often, people are not accepting towards people that are different (people with diseases, syndromes, etc.), and really this needs to change. Everyone has the right to be in a negative-freeenvironment, and the right to feel good about themselves.
It’s very disheartening seeing that people do make fun of other’s because of the specific conditions that they are in. Not only are they being hurtful and offensive, they are also promoting bullying.
Get it in your head – this is real life, and real people do look different due to medical conditions and/or injuries. Everyone is unique. Sadly, to this very day, people are still seen whispering amongst each other, pointing, or laughing at another because of their appearance.
Would you enjoy being made fun of? Would you enjoy being called rude names? Would you enjoy being excluded from everyone else? If not, then why on earth would you do these things to other people?
The only way to stop bullying around this subject is to educate others about special conditions that a person may have, and to remind them about proper manners and kindness, hoping that they learn not to do this to someone else.
The bottom line is: abnormality or not, no one deserves to be bullied. Words are powerful; you better watch what your mouth because once something is said, it’s out there, and you can’t take it back.
