So technically speaking you
can no longer fly from
London to Paris , you will
need to choose a Departure
Airport from the 6 in London
and arrive at one of the two
in Paris. Obviously based on
the airlines your choice of
departure airport will often determine the
destination airport and thus if you want a
specific destination airport that can be
reflected in the choice of departure airport.
Of course the other factors such as available
dates and times to suit as well as seat
availability play an important factor in what
your actual flight might be.

A typical flight ticket
This is where we come into the article in more detail as the actual flight
you make is enclosed with so many codes that each airline , airport ,
airspace authorities use on a daily basis and to the traveller are an
essential part of the process of actually getting on the flight.
So firstly the Airport , obviously each airport has a location and a name
but that is not all that an airport has to rely on or use.
From the passenger point of view they will know the airport by the
name but when you get your ticket you will see various codes
As you can see from the ticket image above it is for a flight from New
York to London.
But if you look in detail at the ticket you will see the two codes LHR
and JFK.
LHR is a code for London Heathrow Airport and JFK is for John F
Kennedy Airport in New York
So w here do these codes come from and where do I find out what
airport has what code ?
