AL PACINO In ‘Serpico’ he plays as an undercover cop who exposes corruption in the force. Rumour has it that he was heavily involved in the character, while he was driving (not while shooting) he saw a truck spewing exhaust. He pulled the driver over and attempted to make an arrest. His role as Frank Serpico won him an Oscar. His madness for acting didn’t stop there. On ‘Scent of A Woman’ he made himself blind by not allowing him to focus on anything. He would remain in character off set, by walking using his cane and not looking at anyone while they talked. Scent of a Woman(1992) Trivia During production, Al Pacino reportedly only slept a couple hours a night, ate sparingly, and would sometimes take cold showers; this was in order to emphasize Sonny’s disheveled, exhausted and yet wired appearance. Trivia In ‘Marathon Man’, although he was playing a graduate student, Dustin Hoffman was actually 38 years old at the time of filming. Marathon Man(1976) PAGE 15 FLICK 2018
