SINGLE-LEG
STIFF-LEG
DEADLIFT
Layug describes this move as
“killer” because of the
coordination required to
complete it. “You also have to
use stabilizing muscles to keep
balance,” she says. “I love this
move because you really stretch
the hamstrings and glutes as well
as challenge your core.”
DUMBBELL
ROMANIAN
DEADLIFT
This is a very effective move for
the hamstrings. Layug is aware
that many people think it’s about
how low you can go, but advises
caution. “What is most important
is feeling the stretch in the
hamstrings as you shift the
weight and tension increases.
You must use the lower-body
muscles and not the back so you
can prevent injury.”
