This year’s KMA Annual Meeting continued last year’s change to a
weekend format with registration and opening meetings taking place
on Friday, the leadership academy, KMA reference committee and
leadership dinner on Saturday, and society caucuses and KMA House
of Delegates concluding the weekend on Sunday. Specialty group
sessions and ICD-10 training concluded the annual event on Monday.

Timir Banerjee, MD, recieved the Jefferson Award from WDRB. The Jefferson
Awards recognize volunteers who transform lives and strengthen communities
through dedication and service.
Dr. Charles Oberst introduces the Fall CATO meeting.
The 2016 Fall CATO Meeting took place during the KMA Annual
Meeting at the Marriott Louisville East on Friday, Sept. 9. The topic
of conversation this year was “Sexuality in Seniors” and the discussion was led by Ganesh Kartha, MD, of First Urology in Louisville.
The CATO Meeting was hosted by GLMS and introduced by Chair
Charles Oberst, MD. More than 40 physicians and their spouses
attended the educational presentation to socialize, enjoy a meal
provided by GLMS and increase their knowledge base in communication information to elderly patients regarding intimacy and
sexual dysfunction. Thank you to all those who attended the event.

completing the Kentucky Medical Association’s Community Connector Leadership Program. Upon completion of
this prestigious program, participants
strengthen their leadership presence in
the community and are better equipped
to raise the awareness of fellow leaders on the issues affecting the medical
profession.

Speaker of the House of Delegates for
the Kentucky Medical Association.
