Monthly Update
We look forward to sharing with you each month the most recent news and activities from the GLMS
Physician Education and Practice Support Department.
NEWS FROM GLMS PASSPORT IIRC MEETING JULY 14, 2017
» » Medicaid Approves Additional SBIRT Screening Code H0049
The Kentucky Department for Medicaid Services has approved a new SBIRT code for alcohol and/or drug
screening, up to 14 minutes, H0049. DMS has not, however, established a reimbursement rate for this code.
Once a rate is established in the fee schedule then providers can start to bill for this service. We will continue
to monitor the progress of this update and share new information with GLMS members as it is received.
» » New Claims Payment System, Provider Portal and Training
Effective October 1, Passport will have a new third party administrator for claims processing. Instead of
renting the claims system, Passport will own the system which will be based in-house. This will allow the
claims to move faster with greater accuracy, and provide access to representatives in house. Passport will
also have a new provider portal October 1.
Passport’s annual provider workshops will be dedicated to training on the new claims system, provider portal
and electronic remittance advice (ERA)/. electronic fund transfer (EFT). Passport and Evolent Health have part-
nered to integrate clinical and administrative capabilities to improve Passport’s ability to conduct business in
Kentucky on a single, scalable platform. Training opportunities in the Louisville area include: Friday, September
22, Monday, September 25 or Wednesday, September 27 at Norton Suburban Hospital, Plaza 1; 4001 Dutchman’s
Ln, Louisville, KY 40207.
To register, select a date above then email [email protected] or go to the Educational
Resources section of Passport’s website then click on Provider Workshops. For questions about the 2017 Provider
Workshops, please call Provider Services, 800-578-0775 or contact your provider relations specialist.
