SUPPLIES OVER SEAS THROWS SECOND
HEALTH AND HOPE BREAKFAST
SOS President & CEO Denise Sears
Louisville’s own Supplies Over Seas, the non-profit organization
which distributes thousands upon thousands of old and used medi-
cal supplies to underprivileged countries, returned to The Olmsted
for their second annual Health and Hope Breakfast.
The charity event took place on Thursday, October 19 th and brought
some of the biggest names in health care together to donate gener-
ously to the work being done. While the affair was mostly a lively,
personable one, it was made more somber by the passing of the Sup-
plies Over Seas founder, Dr. Norton Waterman, just a few weeks ago.
Denise Sears, Supplies Over Seas President and CEO, expressed
her regret at Dr. Waterman’s passing, saying “It was his vision that
led to the start of Supplies Over Seas as a program of the Greater
Louisville Medical society. In a few weeks, we’ll be honoring Dr.
Waterman with a container shipment which will be sent to Mexico
in partnership with Brown-Forman. The greatest way we can honor
his legacy is to sustain and grow Supplies Over Seas and carry out
his mission with excellence.”
