CREDENTIALING UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT, CONTINUED
hospital credentialing information.
GLMS and CAPS enjoy a unique position as
intermediaries between hospitals and insurance companies, and can work to ensure all
requested information needed to complete
the physician credentialing process has been
received by insurance companies.
Contracting with CAPS for provider insurance enrollment and credentialing allows
physicians and their staff to focus on caring
for patients and the business of providing
that care rather than adding yet another
administrative burden to their workload.
“Provider enrollment won’t benefit everyone who comes to us for credentialing services, but for those going through both, why
wouldn’t we do it?” asked Williams.
GLMS Executive Vice President Bert Guinn,
MBA, CAE, is dedicated to improving the credentialing experience and making it a “gold
star service.” “I want us to do everything
within our power to make the credential-
ing process be as smooth and painless as
possible,” Guinn said. “What’s more, I want
our members, customers, and clients to feel
highly valued and taken care of throughout
the entire process.”
CAPS is already seeing a great response from
clients. Ashlee Melendez, MSPH, RN, CCRN,
is the U of L Department of Emergency Medicine Administrator and Research Coordinator. She’s been working with CAPS for 20
years and sees new life in recent changes.
“In the past, credentialing was a stopping
point. The process was time consuming,”
Melendez said. “I called and spoke to Jessica
Williams and she was so helpful. She answered all my questions, gave options I could
use and ways we could work together to
decrease the turnaround time. I was happy
to talk to somebody who listened and who
was able to help me streamline the process.”

WEAR THE WHITE COAT KICKS OFF IT’S
5TH YEAR!
GREATER LOUISVILLE MEDICAL SOCIETY
WEAR THE
WHITE
COAT
The fifth annual Wear the White Coat Experience, coordinated by GLMS and powered by
a grant from the GLMS Foundation, kicked off
with a well-attended breakfast at the Kentucky Science Center on Wednesday, October
14.
Wear the White Coat pairs Louisville physicians one on one with city representatives,
state and local legislators, business leaders,
clergy and more to create an unforgettable
behind the scenes experience into the world
of health care. Those shadowing physicians
have a unique opportunity to walk in their shoes and learn firsthand
what a day in the life of a Louisville physician is like.
GLMS President Bob Couch, MD, MBA,
welcomes White Coat participants.
“As participants in Wear the White Coat, we hope to give you deep
insight into the world of health care through the eyes of a physician,”
explained GLMS President Robert “Bob” Couch, MD, MBA. “This
is a very special day for us as we hope to create a strong bond that
will lead to an ongoing partnership in which physicians and community leaders make better decisions resulting in improved health
and well-being for everyone in our community.”
Each pair will have three weeks to meet and spend a day together
before they reconvene at the Old Medical School building on November 4 for a closing dinner and fr V
