TWO GLMS STAFF RECEIVE RECOGNITION FROM NCQA TO ASSIST PRACTICES With Patient Centered Medical Homes (PCMH) and Patient Centered Specialty Practices (PCSP) becoming more prevalent in the country, GLMS now has new resources to assist members through the complicated process. Jessica Williams CHTS-PW, PCMH CCE, Director of Physician Education & Practice Support and Stephanie Woods CHTS-PW, PCMH CCE, Sr. Advocacy Specialist, are newly recognized by the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA) as PCMH Certified Content Experts after having successfully completed NCQA’s rigorous certification course and exam. “Certified NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home Content Experts receive thorough training and demonstrate in-depth knowledge to assist organizations applying for NCQA PCMH Recognition,” said NCQA President Margaret E. O’Kane. By becoming Certified Content Experts, GLMS has the expertise to help both primary care and specialty practices transform their practice through improvements in workflow and making technology and data work for the practice. “It’s not about making a practice conform to NCQA standards,” Williams stated. “It’s about how we as Certified Content Experts can work with NCQA so they see what the work practices are doing is patient-centered.” GLMS is offering, on a first come first serve basis, the opportunity for member practices* to receive a free practice workflow assessment and PCMH/ PCSP gap-analysis (a $500 value.)
