The GLMS IT Task Force, chaired by GLMS
President-Elect Robert Couch, MD, MBA,
recommended to the board a membership
database migration to a new “MemberMax”
cloud based system accessible by members.
The task force determined the current database to be technologically out of date and
labor intensive. The new program would allow significant ease for GLMS staff and more
services to GLMS members. The initial cost
of the new program would be $39,000 with
an annual expense of $10,700. To meet that
need, the IT task force requested the annual
budget be increased by $5,160. “There are
opportunities with this,” said GLMS Assoc.
Exec. Director Bert Guinn, MBA, CAE. “GLMS
members get increased functionality. You can
see your history with GLMS. There will be online forums with committee meetings. You can
see if your dues have been paid and you can
access it anywhere.” The board accepted the
request and approved the migration which
will take place later this year.
GLMS President Bruce Scott, MD, reminded
board members of the GLMS proposed 2015
election ballot which was recently sent to
all GLMS physicians via e-mail. There is currently an uncontested slate for GLMS President-Elect. Candidates interested have until
