Luxury carmakers have long extended their brands beyond the garage, but Aston Martin has taken the idea to a particularly extravagant level with a designer dog bed.
The bespoke bed, created under the Aston Martin name, reportedly sold at auction for more than the price of an average house. It is a reminder that luxury branding can reach well beyond cars, with accessories aimed at customers who want their pets to enjoy the same design-led lifestyle as their owners.
For most dog owners, a comfortable cushion and a washable cover will do the job. For a select few, apparently, the family pet deserves something closer to a piece of automotive-inspired furniture.

Lamborghini is known for dramatic supercars, bold styling and eye-catching colours. Its latest collaboration takes those ingredients somewhere rather unexpected: the nursery.
The Italian marque has teamed up with British pram maker Silver Cross on the Reef AL Giallo, a yellow pushchair limited to just 500 examples worldwide. The model follows the earlier orange Reef AL Arancio and brings Lamborghiniinspired styling to a product designed for everyday family life.
According to Driven Car Guide, the pram features angular design details, Y-pattern upholstery, exposed spring suspension and a high-gloss finish. The UK accessory bundle is priced at £ 2,995, with the package including a carrycot, pushchair seat, chassis and accessories. New Zealand pricing and availability had not been confirmed in the report.
The pram is designed for children from birth up to 22kg, showing that even a product inspired by supercars still needs to meet practical family requirements.
