Welcome to the October 2025 edition of FleetDrive.
In our penultimate issue for 2025, we explore the technology and innovations that will guide and shape fleets for the years to come. Fleet and automotive technology have leaped forward significantly in the last decade. This issue delves into how new and advanced features are changing the way we utilise tech trends to optimise vehicles.
Self-driving cars and advanced driver assistance systems( ADAS) are hot topics among fleet and automotive organisations worldwide. These organisations and some nations are working to introduce and integrate these autonomous vehicles into regular use. You’ ll find one of the articles in this issue explains a basic tenant of autonomous vehicles— the levels of self-driving and how they apply to the real world.
At the same time, voice control is now a common feature among everyday appliances. This feature is on its way to vehicles and one of our articles explores exactly that.
On the other hand, automotive technology isn’ t only about the efficiency of the fleet or vehicle. This issue looks at features in vehicles that also care for the human behind the wheel. Functionality can be fun as we explore the interesting world of customisable noises in electric vehicles.
AfMA is also happy to announce that our Women in Fleet Management program is launching a Women in Fleet Management Award! We’ ll be making an official announcement with more details soon as we are excited to celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of women to our industry.
As 2025 draws to an end, it’ s time to think about your career advancement or that of your team. Enrolments are open for the industry’ s Diploma of Leadership and Management for 2026 which has been contextualised for the fleet and automotive industries.
