Leading Future Mobility at Hyundai
In charge of Hyundai ’ s advocacy for eco cars , Scott engages with all levels of government and industry to help prepare the policies and infrastructure needed for a net-zero emission driving future .
“ My role sees me at the forefront of Hyundai ’ s shift to electrification discussing the future of transport with government and industry , from road transport and rail to marine , and even aviation ,” he explains .
His journey to his current role began with a fascination for hydrogen technology after seeing his first fuel cell electric vehicle while conducting ANCAP car crash testing in Korea in 2007 , leading him to Hyundai and eventually founding the Australian Hydrogen Council in 2014 .
Today , he ’ s working to facilitate greater collaboration between government and industry to drive the infrastructure roll out . The goal , he says , is “ to make sure the right charging and refuelling infrastructure is in place to support more battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles , not only for passenger but commercial vehicles too .”
He emphasises his work is not just about promoting Hyundai ’ s vehicles but ensuring that the entire energy ecosystem evolves across Australia .
