FLEET MANAGEMENT – SAFETY IS A FOCUS

The management of Plant or Vehicle fleets encompass many responsibilities , not only for your company and workers but also with compliance of WH & S laws , the underpinning Regulations , Codes of Practice and Australian Standards .
One could argue that the Fleet Manager and the People Conducting Business Undertakings ( PCBU ’ s ) role in Safety applications is more than critical .
Fleet management roles could be and most likely would be classed as “ Officers ” of the PCBU under the latest harmonised WH & S legislation . The PCBU are persons conducting business
undertakings . They could be a person or a group of people .
PCBU Officers , are defined , not by their job title but by the responsibilities and decision-making powers they have . It is the responsibility of the Officer to ensure the PCBU is compliant with Workplace Safety legislation . In the event of any incident involving plant , vehicles or people investigations will target the inputs of all Fleet management processes and systems .
Incident and accident investigations drill down into the events prior to , at the time and after the occurrence . Core root analysis methodologies identify all casual causation factors . These
