Welcome to the final edition of FleetDrive for 2022 , what a year it has been . Whilst COVID lockdowns were gone , COVID ’ s impact on businesses continued to trouble our supply chains here in Australia and in major manufacturing countries such as China .
AfMA ’ s Vision is “ To elevate the Fleet and Automotive Professions ”, whilst our Mission statement is “ To link people and knowledge creating best practice safety , sustainability and effective outcomes ”. We achieve these through a range of educational opportunities including : -
• Hosting face-to-face & virtual Professional Development Forums , designed to educate and provide a relaxed environment to enable the transfer of knowledge and peer-topeer learning .
• Hosting an annual Personal Development Series structured around emotional intelligence . Sponsored by Isuzu Ute Australia , it has nothing to do with the fleet and automotive industries but is designed to help people become the best version of themselves . These webinars are free to anyone will over 130 organisations and over 1,000 people participating during 2022 . Did you know the recordings from these sessions are available to members to augment their organisations Learning & Development programs ?
• Facilitating industry awards for Fleet Manager of the Year , Fleet Safety and Fleet Environment . Designed to transfer knowledge of best practice across the industry whilst highlighting the achievement of fleet professionals and their organisations .
• Accrediting salespeople to understand their responsibilities and those of their customers in relation to safety in the mobile workplace . These Accredited members get full access to AfMA ’ s resources and are provided with information to share with their customers helping them to become trusted business advisors .
• Hosting online training courses for fleet professionals , suppliers and drivers with over 3,000 courses have been completed !
• Facilitating knowledge transfer through its annual Australasian Fleet Conference & Exhibition . This year , 542 people participated in the conference that delivered 24 educational sessions with 44 speakers . Our exhibition space included 75 sponsors and exhibitors showcasing the latest and greatest technology , systems , and equipment .
• Working with Swinburne University to develop a Diploma of Leadership & Management contextualised for the fleet and automotive industries . We had 15 people participate in the 2022 cohort who have completed and will graduate in front of 400 + people at our 2023 Fleet Conference .
• Working with major suppliers and vehicle manufacturers to develop educational programs for their staff and franchised network . Programs have been developed for Toyota and Isuzu Ute Australia , with many others in discussion .
• Recently launched a mentoring program , design to connect aspiring leaders with successful mentors to build a stronger industry ; we have twenty two people currently participating .
• Our weekly News Alerts where out top 100 articles for 2022 had over 21,000 page views . Our bi-monthly e-magazine FleetDrive , with over 5,000 readers across our first five publications and over 48,000 page views .
This December issue of FleetDrive is filled with riveting insights from our guest contributors . Jerome Carslake ( NRSPP ) will be sharing how to Turn the End-of-the-Year Rush into a Positive — for Your People and Your Business . Meanwhile , Vince White ( General Manager QFleet ) will be letting us peek into the QFleet Electric Vehicle Transition Strategy . Of course , our friends from Redbook will be sharing What ’ s in Store for 2023 and Beyond ?
Meanwhile , our very own Nelly Matikainen will be talking about How to Future-Proof Your Fleet and Anby Alcomendas will be sharing the some of the most exciting Fleet Tech to Watch Out for in 2023 .
As we prepare for another year , we hope you don ’ t forget the importance of learning and development for leaders in the fleet and automotive industries . Applications are still open for the 2023 Diploma of Leadership and Management .
