Price is a large factor in choosing a car , and in simple terms an EV is much more expensive than a hybrid . However , this does not consider an EVs lower parts maintenance costs through less wear and tear , lower fuel cost , lower servicing cost and some incentives . Various analysis shows a payback of approximately 6 years , which on a 5-year lease does not make sense financially . However , based on the cars new technology , lower wear and tear , it would not be unreasonable to modify company policies and hold the cars a little longer to ensure financial viability .
Note current paybacks includes low residual values , and there is a prevailing thought that residuals will over time with the new technology , be higher than in first generation models .

When choosing a supplier , consider how they will assist in managing load as well as the cents per kw / h they charge . Can you charge at night at off peak ? How will they assist with employee reimbursement if charging at home ? And don ’ t forget the FBT implications from taking a car home !
Where to install the charger Will you charge pool vehicles at night from base ? Or tool of trade vehicles at employee homes ?
If leasing a site , will the landlord allow the installation ? Or contribute to it as an asset ?
Or do you use public car parks and need their permission to install , or use one of their chargers ?
Or will you allow the general public to access your charger during the day as a client incentive or a revenue recoupment strategy ?
