Executive Directors Report Mace Hartley Executive Director

Welcome to the latest edition of FleetDrive ! What a challenging yet interesting year 2022 is turning out to be . We ’ re glad that we can work together to rise above everything that is currently impacting the automotive and fleet industry as we pursue the new normal .
We have an exciting and jam-packed issue prepared just for you . In this edition , we ’ ll be talking all things electric ! In 2022 , the electric vehicle market continues to rise , and fleets are at the helm and leading the way in taking EV adoption to the next level . We asked our corporate partners and suppliers about their EV initiatives that our fleet members can support , and they have gone above and beyond to provide us with great insights .
AfMA was privileged to have host the 2022 Australasian Fleet Conference and Exhibition on 3rd to 4th May at the Rosehill Racecourse Gardens Sydney . With over 550 registrations , it was uplifting to see delegates from overseas and all states & territories participating in the 20 educational sessions , from 30 + speakers , whilst exploring technology from more than 40 exhibitors .
During the conference opening we launched the 2022 Personal Development Series titled Enhancing Personal Effectiveness through Leadership and Communication . One goal , “ help you become the best version of yourself ” with six sessions for 2022 . A huge thank you to Isuzu UTE Australia for recognising the importance of continuous personal improvement , allowing anyone to freely participate , learn and grow . Yes , that ’ s correct , participation is FREE to anyone , so please share the registration links with friends , family and colleagues .
Seeing you in person is truly the highlight of the Conference . We hope all you ’ ve learned can help you in creating an individual roadmap that will help you in decreasing operational costs , increasing safety , and reducing emissions .
I would like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to all our industry champions who claimed our 2022 Fleet Awards — Terry Bickerton from Australia Post ( Fleet Manager of the Year Award sponsored by bp and GEOTAB ), the NSW Department of Planning and Environment ( Fleet Environment Award sponsored by Hyundai and Mix Telematics )
